Arimidex

Arimidex, also known as Anastrozole, is an aromatase inhibitor primarily used to treat hormone-sensitive breast cancer in postmenopausal women. In bodybuilding, it is commonly used to control estrogen levels during anabolic steroid cycles. Arimidex works by blocking the aromatase enzyme, which converts testosterone into estrogen, helping to prevent estrogen-related side effects such as gynecomastia, water retention, and high blood pressure.

Unlike selective estrogen receptor modulators (SERMs) like Nolvadex, Arimidex reduces overall estrogen levels in the body rather than just blocking receptors. While effective, it can lead to side effects such as joint pain, fatigue, headaches, and cholesterol imbalance if estrogen is suppressed too much. Proper dosing and monitoring are essential to avoid excessive estrogen suppression, which can negatively affect mood, libido, and bone health. Arimidex is often used both during cycles and in post-cycle therapy (PCT) to maintain hormonal balance.
