Anyone switch up training style mid-prep?

Like I’ve been doing push/pull/legs for months, but with prep kicking my ass, I’m wondering if switching to an upper/lower split would help conserve energy. Thoughts?

I do that every prep. Less volume, more intensity, and upper/lower lets me hit everything without burning out.

Push, pull,legs is great off-season, but during prep I get better recovery from 4-day upper or lower. Try it for a week and see.
